Frederik and Leonard Döppeler had a vision: an app that helps school pupils with career guidance and at the same time supports companies in finding suitable apprentices.
With this innovative idea, the young brothers wanted to build a bridge between Generation Z and training companies.
The two pioneers faced a classic challenge: they had a great business idea but no idea how to turn it into reality.
Their first attempts to develop an app themselves failed. The search for suitable app developers and service providers was not successful either: the providers they found seemed uninterested, untrustworthy or were simply too expensive.
The situation became increasingly frustrating. The dream of their own company and an app that brings pupils and companies together was about to burst.
Without technical expertise and a trustworthy partner, it seemed impossible to put the idea into practice. The two brothers were close to giving up their plan, and an innovative solution to a real problem for many pupils and training companies would never have become reality.
In this critical phase, the brothers met Werkdigital and its managing directors Boris Feldmann and Benedikt Huss. The two were immediately enthusiastic about the business idea and saw its potential. The Werkdigital team then developed a convincing concept and an extensive interactive clickable prototype of the app in just 4 weeks.
This prototype was so convincing that Frederik was already able to win the first companies as customers with it, even before the actual app was finished.
The visualisation in the prototype made the benefit for pupils and training companies so obvious that the brothers found the courage to actually found their company swappz GmbH and finally put the business model into practice. They received financial and entrepreneurial support from Boris Feldmann and Benedikt Huss.
One year after it was founded, hundreds of companies and thousands of pupils are already using the swappz app and the newly added applicant portal.
Interest is so great that even the economic development agencies of various municipalities have approached the two founders in order to establish swappz nationwide.
The app has been available in the Google and Apple app stores since September 2024. Instead of long job adverts, swappz relies on short videos, real insights and intuitive user guidance. Young people discover companies by swiping, get to know everyday working life and can orientate themselves and apply with just a few clicks.
In 2024, the brothers Frederik and Leonard Döppeler from Olpe founded swappz GmbH together with our managing directors Boris Feldmann and Benedikt Huss.
The Werkdigital team supports the young, creative start-up with its experience and looks forward to a long collaboration.

In the app stores since September 2024The user interface was implemented with React Native in order to develop for iOS and Android devices in parallel, saving time and costs.
The .NET services enable the development of modern, clearly structured backends that can be developed further easily at any time.
All content is managed via the open-source CMS Strapi and can be maintained through a simple, customised user interface.
